Radiator Services

The radiator uses cooling liquid, called coolant or antifreeze, and air to manage the extreme heat of combustion engines. As your vehicle runs, the cooling system circulates coolant through the engine and radiator. Coolant is formulated to prevent corrosion inside the cooling system, and helps maintain optimal engine operating temperature regardless of outside conditions. In other words, the radiator keeps your vehicle from overheating in hot weather, and freezing up in bitter cold.

Radiator Flush & Fill

During Grease Monkey™'s Radiator Flush & Fill , we inspect the cooling system components and pressure-test the system to check for leaks. During the flush and fill, rust, corrosion, and contaminated engine coolant are removed, and the cooling system is refilled with the appropriate ratio of water and coolant to protect against freezing, boil-over, and corrosion.

Does your radiator need a flush and fill?

Grease Monkey™ recommends a Radiator Flush & Fill Service in accordance with your owner’s manual recommended service intervals. Your Grease Monkey™ technician will check your owner’s manual and let you know the proper interval for your vehicle.

The greatest benefit of a Radiator Flush & Fill Service is the peace of mind that comes from knowing you’ll avoid overheating in summer and freezing up in winter. Other benefits include:

  • Maintains proper engine operating temperature
  • Prevents coolant leaks
  • Lowers risk of costly engine failure
  • Maintains vehicle warranty requirements

In addition, coolant has an additive package that:

  • Protects metal surfaces in the radiator, heater core and engine block against rust and corrosion
  • Lubricates the water pump
  • Minimizes foaming inside the cooling system to keep it operating efficiently
  • Peace of mind – you’ll avoid overheating in summer and freezing up in winter
  • Increases life of cooling system components
  • Improves performance of heating and air conditioning systems
  • Maintains proper engine operating temperature
  • Prevents coolant leaks
  • Lowers risk of costly engine failure

Does your radiator cap need to be replaced?

If your radiator cap doesn’t hold the exact specified pressure, it should be replaced.
